United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)

UNFPA

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is the leading United Nations organization working for a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every birth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled. UNFPA works to increase the likelihood that women and young people will live healthy and productive lives.

Through its work on the axis of population dynamics and development, the United Nations Population Fund in Jordan seeks to encourage policies that can help achieve a “demographic dividend” by working with partners, including civil society, communities and governments, such policies include improving access to Quality education and jobs for young people, as well as investing in health, especially sexual and reproductive health, and strengthening national capacity to conduct research and use data to support more effective policies. Inclusion of population and gender issues in national development plans, and support for the development of a strategy on youth employment and entrepreneurship.
